For years, Knotts Knives have been known as the best in the world. The Basics collection is what started it all. In 1968, Cheston Knotts, an avid hobbyist and skilled craftsman, became interested in carving. As his skills as a carver developed, he noticed the old pocketknife he was using wasn't very comfortable. He developed his own tools in shapes and styles both pleasing to the eye and functional. When his carving instructor saw the new knives Cheston had developed, he became our very first customer.
